A lot of preachers and teachers speak of “being saved.” Saved for what? To go to heaven? To eternal life? What? This needs to be articulated and clarified because one will find themselves entrapped and unable to explain what is written in Scripture about this.
The Bible speaks of Salvation in the present and future tense: “Being Saved” and “Will Be Saved.” I read nowhere
Jesus teaches that one “is” saved.
He does speak of one’s faith “has saved” one. But in what sense? To eternal life. (Luke 7:41-50)
The woman Jesus told this to was not his follower because she had “many sins. ” Even though she was not his
follower, she was not ashamed of him and showed him, love.
Jesus forgave her many sins – as he does for ALL. – and that woman was “saved” in that she WILL have a
resurrection from the dead.
This woman’s faith in Jesus saved her to that end. Upon her resurrection, she will have the opportunity like
everyone else to prospect of being granted eternal life if she “endures” to the end. (Matthew 10:22)
Were Saved or Will Be Saved?
Below, I have listed almost all of the Scriptures showing where salvation is used in the past tense. Notice that this past tense usage is associated with “The hope of everlasting life” and “saved” as to the promise to all of being resurrected from the dead … no matter who you are. It is “God’s gift” to all of mankind through His Son.

- Eph 2:8 (God’s gift to all of mankind)
- Romans 8:24 (If you believe you “are saved” then you have no hope in the resurrection)
- Titus 3:5 (What is this rebirth? It is the hope in the future resurrection)
This is not by works or becoming a “Christian.” So NO ONE can boast that being a Christian or anything else
qualifies them “As Saved.” (Present tense. Read Titus 3:5 again)
ALL. “ARE” saved to being resurrected. ALL “ARE NOT” saved to eternal life. That must be earned by test. Also, God “saved” a people out of Egypt. But many lost their faith, stopped believing, and lost their lives. Jude 5.
Will Be Saved?
Notice salvation is mentioned in the future tense. “This is referring to all having “The Hope of Everlasting Life”

Are Being Saved
Here are Scriptures where salvation is being spoken of in the present tense. That is, a work in progress, We must
work out our own salvation as to eternal life. (Phil 2:12)
That being saved is referenced here means that there is no assured salvation as to eternal life given to anyone, yet.
Our faith must be tested and have faithfully endured the Great Tribulation and THEN one will be saved as to eternal life. (Matthew 10:22)

Jesus Saved All of Mankind From A Pershing (Not Death)
What Jesus “saved” all mankind from was “from perishing” not from dying.
Perishing and dying are two different things. If one perishes, there is no hope for the resurrection because those who perish no longer exist, not even as dead persons.
But as a dead person, one is PROMISED a resurrection from the dead. (John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15)
Happily, no one today is in a “perishing” state. We are ALL in a dying state. In other words, we are all heading to the same place: Death and the Grave.
Upon the great resurrection, all are subject to perishing if we purposefully sin AFTER we have been taught the truth about God and Christ by Christ through his 1000-year future kingdom “over” the earth “from” heaven.
It will be AFTER Christ’s 1000-year kingdom ends and Satan is released from his prison of 1000 years, that the Great Tribulation will take place (during the days of the Beast).
If we fail to faithfully endure those terrible times and not give in to worshiping the Beast and its image and receive its mark on our right hand and forehead, then we will not be granted – saved – eternal life.
No one today “is saved” about being given eternal life.
So, once it is understood that there are two salvations:
Saved to the promise of a resurrection from the dead. This is a free gift from God to all of mankind. No conditions are placed on this free gift, else it would not be a free gift. There is no requirement to become a Christian (something Jesus never told his followers to be called). All of mankind has been given this gift and cannot lose it.
Saved to eternal life. No one has been given this yet. Upon their resurrection from the dead (free gift), our faith must be tested through the Great Tribulation. If we endure to the end, we will then be saved as to eternal life.
That many have not come to see/perceive this great truth, they will stumble about in the dark believing the narrative that there is one salvation and that if they have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior they “are saved.”
Get this multi-colored ball of yard untangled and you will see that this is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
