Eternal Torment or Eternal Destruction?

The religious system called Christianity teaches punishment for sin is eternal torment in a fiery hell. Yet, nowhere in the Bible does it state such. Jesus never nor his disciples back then taught such a thing.

Yet, one can use a minimum of two verses in the Bible (and there are many others) to show that the punishment for sin and for not knowing God and obeying the gospel (teachings) of Christ is eternal destruction, not eternal torment.

These two verses are Romans 6:23 and 2 Thess 1:8-9.

Some Christian apologetics claim that eternal torment and eternal destruction are the same things. No, they are not. To torment implies being alive to be aware of torment. Destruction implies destruction. Gone. No longer existing.

The Greek Scriptures or what is also called the New Testament are written in the Greek language. The Greek words transliterated for destruction and torment are different.

No one of importance. A disciple (student) of Christ apart from the established religious systems who reasons, thinks and concludes matters for myself. Something is not right with the state of religion in the world. The real dichotomy is that we live in a world so full of religion, yet is an evil, immoral, and dangerous place to live. A mental and spiritual separation from this world that Jesus said his kingdom is no part of is the first step to a "break-through" to freedom and entry into a much larger spiritual world where God and Christ resides and the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God can be accessed.
